The Artist

I am a new media artist who works with data and its transformation into new visual forms. I study New Media at the Faculty of Arts, where I developed my interest in combining technology and aesthetics. My work explores innovative ways of interpreting and presenting data. In recent projects I draw inspiration from nature, which I transform into visual works that highlight the relationship between humans, technology and the natural world.

Alternative... (click to expand)

Alternative constellations are created on the screen to reflect the state of animal species on Earth. Each species has its own constellation, whose brightness and colour changes according to its current population. This dynamic picture of life is not only an aesthetic map, but also a mirror of our actions. In the silent movement of the stars, there is space to realize how I, as a human being, can contribute to the protection of this delicate balance and influence the story we are writing together with the Earth.

The viewer... (Click to expand)

The viewer’s attention is captured by the harmonious movement of the flying flocks of birds. Despite its simple colouring, it manages to evoke a sense of calm and give us a space for meditation. From this haze, we can be freed by the moment of the materialization of one member of the flock. It can disconnect us from its world, cross the “in-between space” and enter its new reality. In doing so, he also acquires a new quality, namely the illusion of his new, more perfect self.

The work is made of two parts, a low poly animation of a motion generated by a flying flock of pigeons and a video of a real bird. I am working with the proto-dox of the possibility of displaying 3D animation on a 2D surface and vice versa. I project the video of a realistic pigeon through a pigeon box.

Rain Melody

The Work... (Click to expand)

The work was inspired by rain and the rhythm of falling drops. The aim was to create a melody that would be characteristic of the rhythm of rain. It is given by the flow of water drops on the surface. The installation incorporates the natural material sandstone, which is characterised by its permeability. The drops flow through it and fall onto the translucent surface where the ripples are created. I monitor the movement of these ripples through a camera that is placed in a cabinet under the translucent part. The message of the work is the environmental theme of the importance of drinking water. I try to get the viewer’s attention with one single drop, whose impact can create a sound that we would not expect. The work creates a space to think about the importance of preserving water resources.

Point Humanizmus

Humanity is ... (Click to expand)

Humanity is a part of each of us. There are more than 8 trillion people in the world, and we are different in different ways. But what we have in common is humanity. The work encompasses each and every one of us regardless of color, creed, etc. . Each person represents one imaginary pixel and thus becomes part of a large ecosystem that grows by the second. It is an expression of a certain cohesion of humanity that is transformed into an abstract image. The work was created as part of the CIKE project. City to City, in collaboration with Korean artist Ming Kang. The work Point-Humanism is selected from the body of work Room of Humanity.

Finding new... (Click to expand)

Finding new uses for CDs, which are gradually becoming archaisms thanks to technological advances. The work becomes a prototype for playing the reverse side of a CD, which is mostly made up of graphics, e.g. the cover of a music band. Thanks to the webcam I capture RGB values, in this case we can imagine it as an imaginary gramophone record. Each colour channel has an associated Midi scale. In this way, a melody is created that is authentic to each and every CD.

An interactive... (Click to expand)

An interactive installation during which a photograph is adjusted to the viewer standing in front of it. Through kinect I extract RGB values from clothing, skin and hair pigment. The values obtained are moved by sliders on the tools to adjust HUE hues, black levels and saturation. Also, depending on the viewer’s distance from the subject, the photo is gradually sharpened. The above photograph is processed by MidJourney’s AI to mimic a Renaissance painting.

Space

The instalation... (Click to expand)

The installation allows the viewer to stand in front of a depiction of Jesus Christ and meet his gaze. A keyboard with a single active button – Space – is placed in front of the image. When it is pressed, a portrait of the person standing in front of the image is recorded, with the photograph immediately displayed on the adjacent screen.

The photograph is then distorted by a “pixel sorting” effect, creating an abstract visual representation of the viewer’s face. The recording process is provided by a camera hidden in the eye of Jesus Christ, thus the work takes on another symbolic level – as if Christ himself “saw” the viewer and reflected his image.
